Reaching the top is a pleasure. I enjoy it as much as possible. At the same time I know that the way down is gonna be difficult, tricky because of the snow and the loose rock and cold because the night is coming. All my senses are telling me “you made it yes, but you still have to go down safely, you still need to do half of the job. So keep being concentrated & focus. Be safe. Be safe…” So after 30 min I push Liu & Marcos to start our descent. I want to get back to Simon before the night if possible. Again, I take the lead. I go first, making the belays & anchors for our abseils. The beginning goes quite well. More than I expected and we find Simon and this other guy (Marcos partner) right when the night comes. I m’ tired. We are all tired. But it is now that I, we need to be super carful. It is dark. It is late. We are exhausted. The descent is dangerous. We need to be super super focus to go down safely. We decide to go all 5 of us together. I go first and look for anchors. Sometimes I find ice and I make “abalakov”. Sometimes it is just a sling around a block. And some other times… I need to use all my imagination, my experience and my determination to build a good belay. Rappelling down is long, very long. But we have all night!!!! Before the last rappel, my rope got stuck. Impossible to pull it! It is enough. I decide to leave it because it is too dangerous to climb up again and nobody feels like doing it. It doesn’t matter. One hour and we are all safe…
